JIM DAVIS ON WEIGHT ROOM METAPHORS Jim Davis is the staff and student wellness coordinator at New Trier High School in Illinois. Aside from his daily duties at New Trier, he also is the executive director of The Good Athlete Project and a former professional football player and champion powerlifter. During his interview on Sideline Sessions with Wesley Sykes, Davis uses the weight room - specifically the squat rack - as a metaphor for building relationships and trust among peers and teammates. It plays a small role in his philosophy of social-economic learning through strength and conditioning.
