Partnership and the Effect of Seed
Treatments on Fludioxonil-sensitive
and -resistant Clearwater Russets
Dave Douches and Jeff Miller will provide an
overview of the association and the research
being presented at this year's PAA Poster
Session. Douches will give some highlights
from his research on USAID - The Feed the
Future Global Biotech Potato Partnership.
Miller will discuss his research on the effect of
seed treatments on fludioxonil-sensitive and
-resistant isolates of Fusarium sambucinum on
Clearwater Russet. Come to this session to find
out more about how the efforts of the PAA
benefit the industry and advancements and
new findings in potato research.

Fighting Potato Pathogens in the
21st Century
Potatoes are attacked by pathogens and
pests in the field and in storage and therefore
require a lot of effort to maintain the high
quality of production. The industry made
considerable investments into research
addressing various potato diseases caused
by bacterial, virus, and nematode pathogens.
Currently, multiple projects are underway to
tackle bacterial soft rot, tuber necrotic viruses,
and potato cyst nematodes. The suggested
panel discussion will overview the progress
of these research projects, present plans for
the future, and engage the audience into the
discussion of the significance of the fighting
potato pathogens for profitable potato
production.
