New, Novel Nematicide Offers
Revolutionary Way to Control
Nematodes While Preserving
Soil Health
Salibro nematicide is a novel, innovative
nematicide expected to be federally registered
for use in 2022. Salibro contains the active
ingredient Reklemel active, a non-fumigant
nematicide discovered and developed by
Corteva Agriscience. It is the first nematicide
in the sulfonamide class of chemistry and has
a mode of action different from all currently
available nematicides.
Salibro is effective on plant parasitic
nematodes, including root knot and lesion.
Thousands of field trials have shown Salibro
has excellent efficacy on nematodes,
protecting crop yield and quality. Salibro has a
very favorable environmental profile, ensuring
minimal impact to non-target organisms (e.g.,

The Future of Post-Harvest
Management of Potatoes
Around a third of global food production is
lost annually to food waste. In potatoes, the
effective handling, storage and transportation
of the crop involves managing environmental
factors such as temperature and humidity to
prevent common crop disease and spoilage.
Today, there is a new vision for how
harvested grain and food is stored, handled
and transported by creating a more efficient,
data-driven supply chain that reduces food
waste, improves food quality and increases
sustainability. One emerging technology uses
scalable sensor technology on an artificial
intelligence (AI) platform to monitor the
temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide
(CO2
) levels while automating the detection
and mitigation of potential issues such as
excess moisture, disease or pests.
From cultivation to storage and processing,
crops such as potatoes travel a long way
before arriving at the retailer and then the
consumer. Real-time data is helping to ensure
the consistency of the crop after harvest.
