he last time the potato industry
gathered in one place feels like a lifetime
ago, yet it was just 24 months. So much
has happened since January 2020, and so
much has changed.
Potato Expo 2022 in Anaheim is a case of
a return to normalcy, but not quite the same
normal as before, at least not yet. Take this
digital guide you're looking at right now,
for example.
Yes, we're all getting ready to be at the
Anaheim Convention Center, but you are
able to prepare for and navigate the show
digitally through your phone, tablet or
laptop. It's not a virtual show, like in 2021,
but you can combine the virtual and inperson
experience in a way that wasn't
common before the pandemic.
In essence, we're taking the good
from necessary evolution caused by the
pandemic and combining it with the
previous good things of in-person shows,
like Potato Expo. We hope you find the
guide helpful.
As far as Potato Expo, which is organized
and administered by the National Potato
Council (NPC), the crew has put together
a full slate of sessions, talks, exhibitors and
social events that will educate on the latest
issues facing the industry, as well as the latest
technology to run a successful operation.
The site is the Anaheim Convention
Center, located right across the street
from Disneyland.
" The facility is really impressive, " said NPC
CEO Kam Quarles. " I think people are going
to have a great time. The whole layout of
the campus, the expo hall that we're in just
fits our industry perfectly. ... It looks like
we're going to have a terrific, terrific show.
" We want everybody to get together with
their colleagues, their customers, the buyers
and the whole supply chain of the potato
industry. The value of Potato Expo is that it
comes at just the right time of year to get
everyone together all under the same roof. "
