Barnes & Noble partners with GCA to
highlight Louie Award finalists
The Greeting Card Association announced in an email
that it will partner with Barnes & Noble Stores this summer
to spotlight the Louie Awards finalists. " We're thrilled that
Barnes & Noble will be bringing many Louie Award card
finalists into their stores, " said Nora Weiser, executive
director for GCA.
Atlanta Market prepares for large
summer buying event
Atlanta Market offers expansive gift and home décor
resources with some 8,000+ brands showcased across
40 floors at AmericasMart Atlanta, July 12-18, 2022.

Dallas Total Home & Gift Market
expands Temps
The first market of the summer season will include
an expanded and reimagined Temp show, Dallas Market
Center announced. The Temps at Total Home & Gift Market,
June 22-25, will be the largest in more than 10 years
and will include six new product collections, expanded
existing collections, new floor layouts, and hundreds of
new exhibitors.
" Supported by customer demand and an unprecedented
surge of new buyers in Dallas, we are recreating the Temps
this summer to offer buyers an expanded range of resources
and new collections, " said Jo Ann Miller Marshall, senior
vice president of leasing. " The Temps have always been
a discovery destination, but now we are raising the bar
considerably, folding in the most exciting brands, the best
makers and the nation's top antique dealers. In essence we
are providing retailers and designers access to event more
inspiring and unique products. "
Aurora World donates plush to
children in Ukraine
With the support of the Toy Association, Aurora
World has donated $250,000 dollars' worth of plush
products to bring much needed gifts of comfort, smiles,
and care to the children and families of Ukraine during
these difficult times.
" When there are opportunities to spread joy and comfort
to those in need, we all should take a step forward to lend a
helping hand. Aurora World's initial mission from the start
has always been to deliver Gifts of Smiles, " said Michael
Kessler, senior vice president of sales and marketing for
Aurora World. " Now more than ever we are dedicated
to offering our support to the children and families who
are suffering from the devastating events in Ukraine. We
believe that small acts of kindness can go a long way during
trying times, and we encourage others who can do the same
and spread compassion. "
Messe Frankfurt prepares first aid
center for Ukraine refugees
The Russian invasion of Ukraine poses an unprecedented
threat to peaceful coexistence in Europe. Messe Frankfurt
supports
all
sanction measures taken by the Federal
Government. Against this backdrop, the Messe Frankfurt Board
of Management decided to suspend events of its subsidiary
Messe Frankfurt RUS until further notice. It has also announced
that it is taking action to help refugees from Ukraine.
A first aid center with emergency accommodation for
refugees from Ukraine is being built at Messe Frankfurt. In
Hall 1 on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds, there will be a
first port of call where everything necessary will be provided
until the people can be placed in longer-term accommodation
throughout Hesse. A contract to this effect was concluded
with the city at short notice and without red tape.
Gift for Life and NY NOW team up
for AIDS Walk New York 2022
Gift for Life, the gift and home decor industries' sole
national charitable organization, and NY NOW are fielding a
team for the in-person return of AIDS Walk New York 2022,
an annual 10K walk raising funds for GMHC, on Sunday,
May 15, in New York's Central Park. NY NOW has pledged
to match the first $8,000 in donations. Now in its 37th year,
AIDS Walk New York has inspired nearly 890,000 people
to walk and millions more to donate, raising nearly $155
million to combat HIV and AIDS.
