Pangea launches co-packing services in US, Canada
Vancouver-based food manufacturing company Pangea Natural
Foods Inc. is launching co-packing services for third-party food and
beverage companies in the U.S. and Canada.
Pangea can tailor its state-of-the-art production line to a range of
product requirements, according to a news release.
The company offers potential partners business services
including regulatory compliance, cost savings and scalability.
" Pangea is excited to start a new line of business and support
smaller businesses in their co-packing needs. " Pratap Sandhu,
Pangea CEO and founder, said in a news release. " We not only co-pack
products but also maintain the highest standards in food quality. "
Pangea manufactures and distributes products that are free of
GMO ingredients, fillers, antibiotics, hormones and bioengineered
ingredients. Its products include Pangea Plant-Based Patties, Pangea
Old Fashioned Ghee, Pangea Energy Gel and Pangea Munchie Mix,
available at more than 500 retailers including Loblaws, Save-onFoods,
Sobeys, IGA Marketplace and Whole Foods.

TOMRA Food names Lamb new VP
TOMRA Food has named Peter Lamb,
former CEO of Packaging Products Co., as
the newest member of its executive team.
Lamb is now vice president, head of sales
for TOMRA Fresh Food, a leading provider of
fresh fruit and vegetable solutions.

Co., which serves the food, beverage and
dairy industries in the Middle East, Africa and
Europe, Lamb worked for British multinational packaging business
DS Smith as managing director in the Asia Pacific region.
Lamb will relocate from Saudi Arabia to his native New
Zealand for his new role, based at TOMRA Fresh Food's Auckland
headquarters, according to the release.
Voie Verte benefits from Kronen washing line
French company Voie Verte, which specializes in lettuce
cultivation and sales, has installed a new washing line from Kronen
to help optimize production.
The line was installed this spring in one of Voie Verte's two
IFPA Washington Conference set for September
Hundreds of produce and floral industry leaders will gather in
Washington, D.C., in September to advocate for issues including
food safety, nutrition policy and workforce concerns, as well as
components of the farm bill.
The International Fresh Produce Association's 2023 Washington
Conference will take place Sept. 12-15. New elements this year
include an international trade forum and the women's Fresh
Perspective reception.

lettuce per day, according to the release.
Voie Verte, based near Lyon, cultivates and sells lettuce, spinach,
bean sprouts, pumpkin and squash in supermarkets and its own
stores as well as supplies caterers with raw produce and readyto-eat
products. In need of a gentle yet thorough washing process
with low space requirements to be installed quickly, the company
replaced its previous washing line with a trimming table and three
GEWA 4000 B PLUS HELICAL washing machines by Kronen.
Industry veteran joins JLS packaging team
Pennsylvania-based robotic system
producer JLS has added a new director of
primary packaging.
Waheed Chaudhry has more than three
decades of experience in engineering
and automation with companies including
Ross Industries, Kaeser Compressors and
Simplimatic Automation.
At JLS, Chaudhry will develop product
strategies and provide technical solutions for the company's primary
packaging systems. He will report to Ken Harding, vice president of
applications and product management.
" Waheed has an impressive background in engineering and a
track record of solutions-oriented results, " Harding said in a news
release. " His industry and application experience with sanitary
equipment will prove to be invaluable as we continue to advance our
hygienic primary packaging solutions at JLS. "
