IPC teams up with skateboarding
internet sensation

for ways to leverage
consumer trends
to extend its
brand messaging,
especially to those
who eat potatoes
but may not be the
IPC's primary target
audience - women
25 to 54 years old.
Most recently
we worked with internet sensation, Idaho
native and Idaho potato shed employee,
Nathan Apodaca. Not familiar with his name?
He's best known by his social media name,
Doggface208. He's the happy-go-lucky
37-year old whose truck broke down on his
way to work. Most would call it a day, try to
find a ride home and maybe kick a tire or
two. Not Nathan. He grabbed his longboard
and bottle of Ocean Spray and on his ride to
work, created a TikTok video that has earned
him 6.1 million followers in less than three
months on the world's fastest growing social
media platform.

and 24 years old
* 56% of TikTok users are male and 44%

* Users spend an average of 52 minutes/day

" saving 2020. " His video is so popular it was
recreated by Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks,
the Ocean Spray CEO, Cheech Marin, Jimmy
Fallon and many others.
We didn't want to miss the chance to work
with this Idaho Falls resident to create a video

that put spuds on the map for young potato
purchasers. It was important to retain some
of the elements that made Nathan's " Ocean
Spray " video so popular (TikTok named it the
second most popular video of 2020) but leave
no doubt in viewers' minds who the stars
are...doggface208 and Idaho potatoes.
Our 15-second video features Nathan
munching on French fries as he rides past
the Big Idaho Potato Truck to the tune of
the B-52's popular song, " Private Idaho. "
Even Spuddy Buddy makes a cameo
appearance. The video was an instant hit
with more 3 million views on Instagram and
1.5 million on TikTok.
As much as we like the number of views,
the comments are even better. When we see
" Love Idaho potatoes more now, " " I want
french fries, " " it's the giant potato running
that did it for me " and " this is the new
definition of happiness, " we know we have a
winning campaign.
