LIFE ON THE FARM LaJoie Growers headquarters is located only feet from the banks of the St. John River, which separates 12 Spudman.com Maine and New Brunswick. Acreage is spread out over the northeastern tip of Aroostook County. The LaJoies grow Burbanks and specialty purple potatoes to sell to processors, as well seed potatoes (mostly Caribou russets). They sell seed to other farmers, but also keep some for their own use. They also grow about 80 acres of table beets, including some red and white candy cane beets.
