Q. There are some things that are timeless - like a little black
dress or the perfect martini. What epitomizes " timeless " for
you when it comes to stationery?
A. A well-curated, expansive, picture-perfect, " Instagramable "
card wall; fully stocked with a little something for everyone. Card
lovers are always drawn to a good card wall. A true stationery
shop will always dedicate prime wall real estate to cards.

Q. What are your three top-selling paper/gift vendors?
A. Steel Petal Press, Rifle Paper Co. and Good Paper.
Q. What have you learned about running a stationery and
gift business that's
surprised you?
A. The amount of greeting cards people still buy! Cards are our
number one selling product. True stationery lovers will easily
spend over $50 on greeting cards. We have other regulars who
come in weekly to buy a card for a specific occasion.
Q. If you were a stationery product, what would you be?
A. I feel like the Steel Petal Press line is a pretty accurate extension
of my personality: kind of funny, a little snarky, sometimes sweet,
and not afraid to say what you're thinking.
Q. What is your best value?
A. One benefit of printing our cards in-house is we keep all the
misprints; we sell them for $1.50 each to reduce waste. Paper
people LOVE rummaging through our Bargain Bin. Most of the
time the misprints are barely noticeable. People get great cards
at a discounted price and we don't have to throw them away.
It's a win-win all around.
Q. What's your most expensive item?
A. We have only ever carried 10 items total (out of thousands)
priced $40 or over. The most expensive item we currently have
(and have ever had) is an Incognito VIP Clutch Flask Purse made
by True Brands for $50.
