Harrisburg in October 2017. Malcolm Jenkins, Torrey Smith
and Chris Long took a train after a beating the Washington
Redskins on Monday Night Football to help convince the
House to pass the Clean Slate Act.

"That night after the event when I was checking my phone
for sports scores, I was very gratified to see that my bill was at
the top of ESPN.com," Dietrich said.
From then on, Dietrich said everyone wanted to see the bill
passed and in June 2018 it passed with no votes against it.
"Clean Slate is a hit and everybody loves it because it
addresses the fact that very few people who were eligible to get
their records cleared were actually getting that done," she said.
But while technology was a gamechanger in this case,
Dietrich said it won't solve everything.

Gabriela G. Raful shared that doing pro bono work has been
instrumental in making her a better lawyer. "It is a privilege and
an honor to serve others."

"I hope that we can find other innovative ways to do what
Clean Slate has done for criminal records, but we're going to
continue to need people like you and me and everybody who
has contributed to pro bono in Berks County to continue to
help to resolve people's rights."

Attorney Gabriela R. Raful, the principal partner of
Galfand Berger, LLP's Reading office, was also honored at
the celebration with a 2019 Pennsylvania Bar Association Pro
Bono Award.

4. Are they considering creating a private foundation?
5. Would they like to stay personally involved in the use of their gift dollars?
6. Do they want to receive maximum tax benefit for their charitable contributions?
7. Do they place a priority on sound financial management of their contributions?
If you answered yes to any of these questions,
your clients would benefit from giving through
