w w w.BERKSBAR.org Naturalization Ceremonies July and September The Berks County Bar Association hosted Naturalization Ceremonies at the Berks County Courthouse on July 17 and September 25, welcoming 44 new citizens during the summer celebration and 52 new citizens in the fall. A total of 152 citizens became naturalized at the BCBA ceremonies in 2019. A new citizen and her daugher receive voter registration applications and other information from several community organizations during the July ceremony. Elsie Maduro, a Vice President at Customers Bank, was the keynote speaker during the July ceremony. Maduro told the new citizens that they were each "adding your own flavor" to America. "The change you want to see in your community and in your future starts with you. It is in your hands." 8 | Berks Barrister Immediate Past President Joan London takes some time to speak to the Boy Troop and Girl Troop 431 of West Lawn after the troops presented the colors at the July ceremony.
