Spotlight on New Members

Matthew Banta is an associate attorney at Stevens & Lee, P.C. His current practice area
is commercial litigation. He graduated from James Madison University with a degree in
political science. Matthew worked as a political consultant and campaign manager before
enrolling in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he graduated magna cum
laude. He enjoys golf and tennis as well as rooting for the Phillies, Sixers and Eagles.
Matthew is engaged to Marlissa Amole.
The Honorable James M. Bucci's Judicial Law Clerk is
Matt Fessler. He holds a political science degree from the
University of Pittsburgh and earned a law degree at the
University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to his clerkship
with Judge Bucci, Matt served internships with the Honorable
Anne E. Lazurus of the Pennsylvania Superior Court and the
Honorable David Wecht of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Reading novels, bicycling, watching television and playing
video games, including Super Smash Brothers Ultimate on the
Nintendo Switch, are among Matt's hobbies.
Lauren Meers is an associate attorney at Frederick Law Offices P.C. where she practices
in the areas of family and criminal law. A graduate of Elizabethtown College in Lancaster
County, Lauren has a political science degree and a double minor in History and
International Studies. She earned a law degree from Villanova School of Law. Lauren
worked for many years at Variety Club Camp and Development Center in Worcester,
Montgomery County helping children with disabilities. In addition to enjoying reading and
volleyball, Lauren is an avid Eagles and Flyers fan. Her husband, Joe, and her have two cats,
Cica and Georgie.
Henry J. Young is lead special education attorney for the
Wyomissing office of McAndrews Law Offices PC. Prior to
working in Berks County, he practiced securities litigation
in New York City and was a Legal Aid attorney in West
Chester. He grew up in Brighton, Great Britain and studied
archeology and pre-history at the University of Sheffield. As
an undergraduate, Henry's primary area of study was Roman
architecture, visiting excavated sites across Britain, France
and Germany. The sites were mostly ancient road systems and
storage structures. Henry's favorite find was a pair of Roman
brooches that had been discarded by a road. "They were made
of glass and copper and not at all valuable, but thrilling to find
nevertheless," he noted. Henry earned his law degree from
William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota. He and his
wife, Andrea, have two children: Oliver, 10, and Helen, 8.
