s part of the Bar Association's Strategic Planning
Committee, I was one of the people who received the
results of the survey where members were asked "What
new membership services, programs and benefits should the Berks
County Bar Association offer?" Although some novel ideas were
pitched including a cigar smoking area, Spanish lessons and free
courthouse parking, the majority of the "new" services, programs and
benefits that were suggested are ones that currently exist.
The Bar Association website has a robust Members Only
section where many of these member benefits can be found. Once
you log-in and click on the Members Only tab, you see links,
contact information and other information for the upcoming

Wills Depository program; the Pro Bono list; Lawyers Concerned
for Lawyers; Casemaker; the PBA Ethics Hotline; Committee
and Section membership; Justice William Strong Inn of Court
membership; Mentoring; the Safe Ask Program; Court schedules
and forms; and our Membership Directory.
There is also a Vendor Marketplace tab where attorneys can
find services to aid them in running their offices. Vendors for
advertising, charitable giving, computer and IT resources, drug and
alcohol or DNA testing, financial, clothing, printing and office
supplies, rooms for depositions, and staffing and job placement can
be found here.
