S
erving the public has been a focus for Katerina N. Krohn
during college and throughout her first two years as a
student at Temple University's Beasley School of Law.
With internships and volunteer service with the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the
City of Philadelphia Office of Immigrant Affairs, and in the
Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Krohn said she's
witnessed how government policies can shape peoples' lives.
" I have been interested in working in government since I
was in high school, " said Krohn, an Antietam High School
graduate. " I value the opportunity to serve communities and
the challenge of helping government improve peoples' lives. "
Krohn, who is entering her third year of law school this
fall, is this year's recipient of the Howard Fox Memorial Law
Scholarship.
The scholarship honors the memory of Howard Fox, who
was a Berks County Bar Association Member working in the
Public Defender's Office and whose life was tragically cut
short in an auto accident.
Howard's parents, Helen and Richard Fox, established
the scholarship in 1978. The Berks County Community
Foundation manages the scholarship fund. The scholarship
is awarded each spring to a deserving graduate of a Berks
County high school who is pursuing a law degree at an
accredited law school.
Antietam High School graduate and Temple University Beasley
School of Law student Katerina N. Krohn credits high school
activities, such as participating in Mock Trial, as inspiring her
interest in public service.
