As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues, we are gearing
up to resume in-person events again for the second half of 2021.
As I previously mentioned, we are looking forward to a big
turnout for our Bench-Bar Conference on August 25. For all
of our members who enjoy golf, please plan on participating in
our Golf Tournament on September 23 at Heidelberg Country
Club. Even if you don't golf, you can enjoy the Annual Picnic at
the Heidelberg Country Club at 5 PM on September 23. Finally,
we'll kick off the holiday season on December 3 with the Law
Foundation's Holiday Benefit Luncheon at a new venue for this
great event: The DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Reading. Further,
as I was completing this column, the Foundation announced that
Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and former Philadelphia
Phillies first baseman Jim Thome will serve as our special guest.
I can say with complete confidence that any member who is not
taking advantage of these opportunities to network and socialize
will be missing out.
My goal this year is to provide safe and innovative
programming and to continue the proud tradition of our great
Bar Association. I have been blessed to work beside an incredible
Board of Directors, and I cannot thank Kori and his wonderful
staff enough for consistently going above and beyond to serve
our members. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to
me if you have questions, criticisms, or ideas to strengthen our
Association. As we travel through the peaks and valleys, let us
find joy in the journey.
Mr. Bodor is the 88th President of the Berks County Bar
Association and serves as an Assistant District Attorney for
the County of Berks.
