w w w.BERKSBAR.org Antietam School District Mock Trial Team Each trial showcases six (6) students from two schools competing against each other. The students range from freshman to seniors in high school. Three members of the team play the role of an attorney and three play the role of a witness. They represent the Plaintiff/Prosecution or the Defendant depending on whether the trial is Civil or Criminal. The State Mock Trial Committee writes a new problem each year for the Pennsylvania schools. They balance the facts as best as they can so each side has strong facts and weaker facts that can be exploited on cross examination. Each side usually has an expert witness.
