Richard Eshelman's term in office. Mr. Spang was a member
of Lodge No. 62 of the Free and Accepted Masons, where he
earned a 50-year pin in 2002. He was also a charter member
of the Wyomissing Lions Club, serving as its second President
and later serving as the First District Governor of District
14-P, having been inducted into this office at the International
Lion's Convention in Nice, France in 1962. Mr. Spang was a
member of Atonement Lutheran Church since 1950, serving
on Church Council and as Superintendent of the Junior
Department for 14 years. Mr. Spang was a world traveler and
after retirement spent 15 winters in Nice, France, where he
became a devotee of opera and the arts. Mr. Spang is survived
by his wife, Elizabeth, his two sons, David and Christopher,
his four daughters, Elizabeth, Deborah, Alexandra and Abigail,
12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

George C. Yatron
George C. Yatron, 69, passed
away on March 6, 2020. Mr.
Yatron was a 1969 graduate of
Reading High School, where
he was an All-State football
player. Following high school,
Mr. Yatron continued his
football career playing on a full
scholarship at the University of
Pittsburgh where he earned a
Bachelor's Degree in Economics
in 1973. In 1976, he earned
his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law
Center. After graduating law school, Mr. Yatron served as
Berks County's Assistant and First Assistant Public Defender,
while maintaining a private practice at the same time. In
1979, Mr. Yatron was elected the Berks County District
Attorney at the age of 28. He served as the District Attorney
until 1991, when he was appointed as a U.S. Administrative
Law Judge. During his time as a U.S. Administrative
Law Judge, he presided over hearings for the Office of
Disability Adjudication and Review in the Social Security
Administration, which he continued until his passing. Mr.
Yatron was a passionate advocate for crime victims, serving
as Chairman of the Berks County Victim/Witness Services
Coordinating Committee and in 1983, receiving the Crime
Victims Center Appreciation Award. In 1985, Mr. Yatron
was also awarded the Outstanding Young Man of the Year
award from the Jr. Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Yatron was
very active in the community serving as the President of the
Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association and Institute and
being an active member of the Berks County Bar Association,
Pennsylvania District Attorney Association, Endlich Law
Club, Isaac Heister Masonic Lodge #660 and AHEPA.
Mr. Yatron is survived by his wife, Shirleen, his daughter,
Christine, and his son, Alexander.
