Experiences).

Committee contact Louis J. Beccaria, Ph.D., President/CEO

About the author: Rebecca A. Tavangar, M.A.,
C.C.T.P., is a psychotherapist whose focus is primarily
recovery from Developmental Trauma Disorder
(DTD) as well as other trauma. She holds certificates
in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and
Adult Trauma, as well as Child/Adolescent Trauma
and Domestic Violence. Her approach to healing
comes from a salutogenic perspective - focusing
on factors that support human health rather than
on factors that cause disease (pathogenesis), using
interventions that originate in the biological and
psychological profile of eudaimonia, a construct of
well-being rooted in self-development, personal
growth and purposeful engagement in the face
of adversity. Rebecca serves as a member of the
Phoenixville ACEs Committee and is currently
working with Alianzas de Phoenixville, addressing
the mental health needs of immigrants and refugees
from Latin American countries. She also serves as
a Trauma Counselor for Tahirih Justice Center in
Washington, D.C., an international organization that
protects women and girls from gender-based human
rights abuses. Rebecca.tavangar@gmail.com www.
