With this genre Rick blended his subjects with their personalities and passions with the incomparable landscapes of Chester County. Many who are long time West Chester area residents remember his work and studio well. By the mid-80s Rick gravitated to commercial photography in addition to portraiture, founding Rick Davis Photographic Communication, then ten years ago he founded Savvy Production to make commercial movies and videos. While Rick was modest in noting his accomplishments he repeatedly alluded to the fact that Polly is the one in the family with the first rate art education, and was the "real" artist between them. Polly soundly and vigorously dismissed that idea, saying her brother is a great and true artist, though self-taught.
