Towne House: The iconic restaurant located at 117 Veterans
Square in Media is soon to begin a new chapter. Although the
new tenants cannot yet be revealed, a lease has been signed
for the legendary building, a place woven into the fabric of the
community and the memories of so many of its residents. The
Towne House building, which sadly has sat vacant since the
restaurant closed in 2015, will not be torn down. Instead, the
space will be tastefully divided into five different, but very
complementary spaces, featuring a pub/tavern in the former
"Tiffany Room," and a more formal dining restaurant experience
and catering event/performance space in the previous "wedding"
area. The only major structural change to the building will be a
3,000-square-foot section in the middle of the building that will
be removed to make way for a sprawling outdoor patio, party
space and beer garden. Also, an additional event space on the
second floor will overlook the open courtyard. And, while the
tenants will certainly breathe new life into the space, it is their
solemn priority to respect how important The Towne House is
to the people of Media, and they will do their best to respect the
many memories that live within its walls. In fact, the space will
no longer be called "D'Ignazio's Towne House," but "Media's
Towne House."

different types of fresh roasted gourmet coffees and over 18
varieties of specialty teas.
Veterans Garden, Veterans Square: Under construction, a
"Pocket Park," also referenced as a "Sidewalk Park" ... a small,
active public space created in the existing public right-of-way.
Pocket Parks can be located in medians, curb extensions, or in the
furnishings zone on sufficiently wide sidewalks. In addition to
landscaping, pocket parks may include seating areas, play areas,
community garden space, or other elements to encourage active
use of the public open space. Pocket parks provide important
public space in areas with high-density land use and areas
deficient in open space.
Wawa: The "Wild Goose" or "Land of the Big Goose" (in
Ojibway) ... After six long years, Media's newest Wawa opened
7/28/17 much to the delight of the community. Super! And,
take a "gander," the location in Upper Providence Township
will soon become the Land of the Big Goose, formally occupied
by a not-so-super-sized Wawa and the Boat House. Wawa, Inc.
is an American chain of convenience stores and gas stations
located along the East Coast of the United States, operating in
PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA, D.C., and FLA. The company's corporate
headquarters is located in the Wawa area of Chester Heights,
Pennsylvania in Greater Philadelphia. Revenue: $10.60 billion
USD (2017) ... that is one big goose egg!
West End Flats: Located in the 19063 zip code of Media, PA,
and built upon land once occupied by a small produce market
and a second hand car dealership, "The Flats" have something for
everybody ... a variety of upscale amenities and close proximity
to shopping and dining. The West End Flats offer 1 bedroom,
1 bedroom/den and 2 bedroom apartment homes with the most
up-to-date luxurious finishes. A 4-star rating for active residents

Turning Point: Established in 1987, The Turning Point Gallery,
once a "must stop" when visiting Media, represented over 200
juried American studio artists and one of a kind pieces. Now, at
another turning point in time, The Ocean City Coffee Company
will soon serve Media in addition to its three locations in OCNJ.
