THE GEEZER COMMITTEE
Robert E.J. Curran, Sr.; Raymond Falzone; Michael L.
Murphy; John Neumann Hickey; Harry F. Spiess, Jr.; and
Raymond J. Peppelman, Jr.
The Courthouse Geezer Award Presented by Raymond J.
Peppelman, Jr., Esquire, to Tracy E. Price, DCBA Marketing
Director/Editor: I am proud to be a Geezer, the term implies
purpose, experience, insight into a better future, one respectful
of tradition and our history. I am a 25-year member of a team
that formed in 1872 and gained momentum as a professional
organization under the leadership of my beloved mother,
Elizabeth C. Price, the Association's first executive director
(1974), who in spirit, continues to guide me. It has been my
pleasure to serve all of you ... Cheers to the Golden Years!
Recognition of the "Golden Geezer", Joseph E. Lastowka,
Jr., Esquire, by Guy A. Messick, Esquire: I first met Joe in the
Courthouse. Rosemary McMunigal was giving me, the freshly
hired associate at Fronefield & deFuria, a tour of the Orphan's
Court Records Room. Rosemary introduced me to Joe who was
sitting on the floor going through files. She told me he was a
well-respected estate attorney. The lesson for me was that even
the well-respected attorneys in Media get dirty when they have
to.
Joe eventually joined Fronefield and deFuria and I got
to know Joe well. I came to respect him to the point that we
formed a partnership in 1988 which lasted for 21 years. Our
friendship has never ceased.
Joe is proud of his St. James, Yale and Penn pedigree. He
is recognized locally and nationally as an expert in trusts and
probate, being an elected a fellow in the prestigious American
College of Trusts and Estate Counsel.
