We are all the
guardians of victims'
rights, together!

10/29/19. District Attorney Kat Copeland accepted the
Guardians of Victims' Rights Award and joined Jennifer Riley,
State Director of Marsy's Law for Pennsylvania, survivors,
advocates, and agencies such as Domestic Abuse Project (DAP),
Delaware County Women Against Rape (DCWAR), Senior
Victim Services, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
and Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) Delaware County
Chapter.
"Marsy's Law will give victims the right to be heard in the
courtroom. Though we have a robust set of victims' rights in
statute, there is no recourse for victims when their rights are
violated, leading people to feel revictimized," said District
Attorney Copeland.

"I am truly honored to receive this gracious award. Standing
alongside so many incredible victim agencies, who daily fight for
justice alongside us in our courtrooms, we are all the guardians
of victims' rights together," said District Attorney Copeland.
"Marsy's Law will ensure that the rights of victims are upheld;
the right to be heard, the right to be present, and the right to be
informed, so that they have the chance to heal." *
