The Ambassador ... Chad
has been giving back since April
2014, when he began his therapy
dog duties and was accepted as
the FIRST " pit bull " in the pet
therapy program at Children's
Hospital of Philadelphia and
Lankenau Hospital. In 2015,
Chad was nominated, and
subsequently named recipient
of the American Kennel Club
Humane Fund Award for Canine
Excellence in recognition for
his services to humankind as a
therapy dog. In 2016, he was honored by the Delaware County
SPCA and named recipient of the Ginger Award, given annually,
to an exemplary pit bull who serves as a breed ambassador for
the community. Later that same year, Chad was named the
recipient of the Providence Animal Center's Official Breed
Ambassador Award and nominated for The Wallace Pit Bull
Foundation Award. In 2018, Chad was named an " Ambassadog "
for Pinups for Pitbulls and Philadelphia's Top Dog.

Chad regularly paid
visits to schools, colleges,
hospitals, and nursing homes.
On numerous occasions, he,
with his owner, Christine
Dampman, raised significant
charitable funds in support of
our Veterans and the Domestic
Abuse Project of Delaware
County.
Chad has served as
a major feature of the
Elementary School Program
of the Delaware County Bar
Association's celebration of
Law Day. This celebration,

with a Mission, through committed volunteers, to help build
a community that values the importance of responsible pet
ownership. Along with education, together, we will help
stop abandonment and surrender issues by providing proper
resources and programs needed to eliminate abuse and neglect.
The organization will continue to help pets through sheltering,
fostering, medical needs, and community outreach because
CHAD would want it that way.
The " Pawlice " ... " Halo, " a 6-year-old pit bull

Department and moved into the Upland Police
Department in March 2019.
Upland Borough Police Lt.
Mickey Curran ... " I thought
it would be good for morale,
especially when you come back
from a tough situation, like a
domestic violence case or a car
crash, she's there to greet you with
her tail wagging. It makes the day
a little easier. "
Halo is a community police
officer, attending events and greeting police station visitors.
July 2020. District Justice Georgia Stone (District Court 322-39)
read Halo her oath in front of the entire police department
and borough council where Halo was officially sworn in with a
paw print as an Upland police officer, making her the first rescue
K-9 in the department's history and the only one in Delaware
County.
Halo received an Upland police badge with her name
engraved on it, which permanently hangs from her collar. Halo
strictly works as a community police officer, attending police and
borough events and making visitors feel welcome at the station.
Lt. Curran created an Instagram account for Halo, so her fans
can follow her " paw-licing " adventures visiting local schools
and hospitals, or watch her sitting in the dugout, cheering on her
department's softball team. Halo has helped to humanize the
officers of Upland to the people they serve in a way that only a
dog can. Halo has her own bank account funded by community
donations for her food and care. *
