There is a Spark in YOU

Ignite the Light and Let it Shine!
The Adventures of
W. Donald Sparks, Esq.,
and Family
W. Donald Sparks, Esquire, is a
lifelong Delaware County resident.
He went to both grade school and
high school in Chester where he was
a contemporary of Hon. Murray S.
Eckell, his future partner. He attended
Drew University, graduating summa
cum laude, and, upon graduation
from college, married his lovely
wife, Ann. He then attended Duke
University School of Law, graduating with his J.D. degree in
1958. He started his practice of law in the City of Chester with
the Honorable Louis A. Bloom.
After some prodding from his old friend Murray Eckell,
Eckell and Sparks was formed in 1964 and has grown
consistently ever since. With a primary emphasis on domestic
relations work, Don also practices criminal, labor, real estate and
estate law.
"Justice is the greatest concern of man on earth" ...
Lawyers play many vital roles on the world's stage but none
more important than preserving, protecting and perpetuating the
rights of citizens, both individual and business. Justice has been
of great concern to W. Donald Sparks, Esquire, and to his son,
and grandson, to follow. The Sparks represent three generations
of practicing attorneys:

trek or not to Trek, that is the question . . .

[trek]
VERB: trekking; go on a long arduous journey, typically on
foot; putting one in a position to see beautiful things

"What? Are you crazy, at your age?"
"That was the question many of my friends posed prior to that
27th day of October, 2001. Not crazy, but one with a spirit for
adventure, this 'old' man, W. Donald 'Don' Sparks, at 68 years
of age, plus, boarded a plane destined for Kathmandu, Nepal."
Arriving in Kathmandu, after 27 hours in the air, Don met his
group, all five of them (14 had signed up), and his leader from
Bhutan. After a short briefing the following day regarding trek
arrangements and a general orientation to Kathmandu, Don, his
group, and 29 Himalayan sherpas, renowned for their skill in
mountaineering, were on their way ... UP, that is!
"Ah yes, the Annapurna Skyline Trek in the shadow of
Himalayan giants, 'the big ones', the tallest mountains on
our planet; literally, the top of our world. Eight out of ten of
the World's highest mountains are in Nepal; the highest, Mt.
Everest, at 29,035! Since I began skiing, roughly 35 years ago,
I was fascinated by the snow-capped mountains. I have skied
mountains ranging in height anywhere from 4,000 to 5,000 feet
to 10,000 to 11,000 feet high. The more I skied, the further I fell
in love. What would it be like to see mountains 22,000 to 29,000
feet tall? I wanted to find out.
"The very next day after our arrival, we toured the
Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu is one of three former medieval
city-states in the valley, along with Bhaktapur, the Hindu shrines
at Pashupatinath on the Bagmati River, and the large Buddhist
stupa at Bodhnath, the center of the Tibetan Buddhist culture
in Kathmandu. The afternoon was ours to explore the many
interesting sites; the first stop was the main Buddhist Temple
where we were allowed inside to see and hear the monks praying
and chanting. Buddhism is the second largest religion in Nepal,
the first being Hinduism to which the Nepalese people belong.
