DoubleTree by Hilton Reading
The DoubleTree by Hilton Reading is an award-winning,
contemporary hotel located in the heart of Downtown Reading at
701 Penn St. Not only does the sizeable hotel anchor the east-end
of Penn Street, but it also offers everything you would expect from
a major hotel chain, including stunning décor around every corner.
What you may not expect is the exceptional customer service, warm
atmosphere, commitment to community, AND some of the best
views of the city and Mount Penn from the upper floors!
The $60,000,000 hotel opened in the fall of 2015 and
offers flexible event space for up to 2,000 guests, including an
amphitheater, boardroom and 15 meeting rooms. The hotel is a
popular destination for locals and visitors to the region and the data
proves it - the property is a top-performing DoubleTree in the U.S.
2020 (and maybe 2021) could be called the year of the pivoting,
evolving, and reinventing and the DoubleTree in Downtown
Reading was no exception.
Additional Dining Space
In one day, the DoubleTree team converted four in-room suites

for a private and one-of-a-kind dining experience. Remember the
views mentioned earlier? Truly some of the best from the suites!
In collaboration with the Reading Parking Authority, the
DoubleTree continues to elevate the customer experience while also
facing the COVID-19 pandemic head on - adding one-of-a-kind
dining via tented dining on the parking garage rooftop - Rooftops
by DoubleTree. The views from the connected parking garage are
absolutely breathtaking.
Food Service Acquisitions
Within a six-month time period, the hotel acquired Boscov's
Catering and rebranded to Ala Carte Catering by DoubleTree,
Kosher by DoubleTree, and Wishes Events and Design by
DoubleTree. There is more on the horizon including the acquisition
of three additional businesses set to be completed in May 2021 and
to be rebranded as Cafeteria by DoubleTree.
The growth and investments made over the course of 2020
are projected to significantly enhance the hotel's revenue. The
leadership and team at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading continue
to not only be a community leader, but also a national leader and
trendsetter.
