Development Award
This award honors Equus Capital
Partners Ltd. for its investment and
vision in developing the former VF
Outlet Center. Equus acquired the
former VF Outlet Center in December
2016 and has been transforming the
site of Wyomissing industries for the
last year, repurposing the old mills
into a unique, modern office and
retail spaces called The Knitting Mills.
This massive undertaking includes
offices for UGI, Tower Health and
Orthopedic Associates of Reading as well as retail space for
a market, restaurant and Sly Fox Brewing Company. New
buildings for Teleflex and Drexel University at Tower Health
are under construction in the north lot. WaWa is set for
Penn and Park avenues.
The economic impact of the $70,000,000 project
includes 570 jobs created during the construction phase and
400 more indirect jobs. The mixed-use facility will create
1,100 jobs and 1,300 indirect jobs.
Enhancing an already vibrant shopping and dining area,
the project is expected to generate $168,000,000 in state
revenue.
