est Reading has become the perfect community to start
the new year, or maybe even your life. With the average
home costing under $120,000, this community has become
the most affordable and vibrant location in Berks County. Young
professionals are relocating to West Reading for the entertainment
and quality of life, but there is so much more. With over 40 gift and
clothing boutiques and 30-plus places to eat and drink, West Reading
has never been livelier. It is also a great place to start a family, with
amazing parks, the area's best schools, a regional hospital and a world
class museum that will entertain and educate your whole family.
West Reading continues to grow. A new microbrewery has opened
as well as soaps, health and wellness boutiques and what we believe to
be a current retail trend, an escape room. If you haven't experienced
an escape room, now is your opportunity. Located below Say Cheese!,
Encrypted Escape is a family experience that's challenging and fun.
They will be opening another room this month with one more on
the way. A few other businesses are expanding soon along with two
new businesses opening by the summer.
Events in West Reading are the highlight of our community. We're
kicking off this year with West Reading Fashion Week from February
7 to 11. This spring will see a Craft Beer & Pretzel Festival on April
28. In May we will celebrate Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby
with Cinco de Derby on May 5. And the tradition continues with
Art on the Avenue on June 16. This annual community festival will
include a Plein Air competition and wine tasting this year. We look
forward to seeing you in 2018 to Experience West Reading.
