As the Greater Reading Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (GRCEDC)
continues to expand its reach into the community, it is vital that the organization hires
the essential talent needed to implement the important work that we have prioritized.
Whether it be telling our story, telling our members' stories, or providing resources to
businesses large and small, we realize that without motivated go-getters, this work could
not get done effectively! Recognizing this, GRCEDC recently created two new positions
that will meet the needs of our members, and our community at large. Meet the newest
team members below, and be sure to say "hi" at the next event you attend!

In late August, GRCEDC announced
the appointment of Jobany Bedoya as
the Small Business & Latino Outreach
Coordinator. The appointment of Mr.
Bedoya follows up on a previous announcement in April that the Berks County Latino
Chamber of Commerce has co-located in
the GRCEDC's Gateway building. Their
presence, along with the Berks County chapter of SCORE, serves to effectively position
the GRCEDC as a one-stop location for
small business and entrepreneurs to access
essential programs to further their growth.

enable her to take our external communications to a higher level,"
said GRCEDC President & CEO Randy Peers.
Previously, Ms. Hunter-Lascoskie served as Associate Director
of Marketing & Development at Berks Encore. Prior to that she
spent six years at Philadelphia-based museum, library, and center for
scholars, the Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF). At CHF, Ms.
Hunter-Lascoskie created comprehensive, accessible exhibits and
digital campaigns. A Berks County native, she returned to Berks to
focus on producing cohesive branding, language, and excitement for
local nonprofits.
"I am honored to be part of such a committed, impactful group of
people. Great things are currently happening in our region and I look
forward to telling the story of our county's economy and business
community in a way that resonates with audiences both locally and
regionally," said Sarah Hunter-Lascoskie.

"It's very exciting to be chosen by the GRCEDC as the Small
Business and Latino Outreach Coordinator. It is an honor and a
privilege to contribute to our small business community. I also
commend the GRCEDC leadership, including the Board of Directors,
Ms. Hunter-Lascoskie is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania
for taking the necessary steps in creating a position that will bridge and Temple University. She is also a 2017 graduate of Leadership
the gap between this great organization and an under-represented Berks and serves on the Leadership Berks Alumni Council. She has
entrepreneurial community in Berks County," said Jobany Bedoya. previously served on the Giving Tuesday Berks steering committee.
Previously, Mr. Bedoya served as a Campaign and Community
Relations Manager at the United Way of Berks County. His love for
the community and empowering others has been his passion for many
years. His previous professional experiences included: banking, retail
management, and small business ownership.
An avid volunteer, serving on a variety of non-profit boards and
committees, Mr. Bedoya has served in both the Berks and Lancaster
communities. In Berks County, he currently serves on the executive
board of The Council on Chemical Abuse, is a bilingual mentor for
SCORE of Berks County and serves as board chair for Star City
Boxing. In Lancaster County, Mr. Bedoya was active in the Spanish
American Civic Association (SACA) - one of the largest Latino
nonprofit organization in Pennsylvania, the Latino Vision Association
(LVA), the Latin American Cultural Center (LACC) and founder of
Union Colombiana in 2013.
Following Jobany's hire, GRCEDC
announced the appointment of Sarah
Hunter-Lascoskie as Director of
Communications & Marketing. "Strategic
communications is one of the leading
priorities of the newly formed GRCEDC
and our affiliate organizations. Our ability
to tell the big-picture economic story of
Berks County, and the individual stories of
our business members, is one of the most
important aspects of our work. We are
pleased to welcome Sarah to this important
leadership role. Her experience in both
marketing & communications, and her
extensive knowledge of Berks County, will
