happening for the Berks County Latino Chamber of Commerce and the
Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Industry! [Yo y algo más!]
The Berks County Latino Chamber of Commerce (BCLCC) was
founded over 12 years ago to be The Voice of the growing Latino business
community. Our mission remains: to provide leadership and support
for the economic development of the Latino business community in
Greater Reading and Berks County, Pennsylvania.

We have great synergy and great momentum! I love and welcome
the opportunity to align ourselves to better serve our businesses and
community. En La Unión Esta La Fuerza!! [Strength in Unity!!]
Thank you GRCCI for welcoming and working with us!

The BCLCC serves as a forum for organizations and individuals to
connect with the Greater Reading Latino business community through
educational programs, social events, and activities aimed at improving
the economic development of Latino businesses in Greater Reading and
Berks County while promoting an inclusive, multi-cultural and diverse
business environment.
My position as Executive Director was created a little over a year
ago with the intent to be more efficient and effective in carrying out our
mission and to strengthen relationships between Latino and non-Latino
companies, organizations, professionals and corporations. As a result, I
made it a priority to visit the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce
& Industry (GRCCI). GRCCI has welcomed me and the BCLCC with
open arms. They keep us informed, updated and included!
During my first couple of weeks as Executive Director, I met with
the former Chamber President, Ellen Horan. Ellen met with me one
on one and provided me with mentoring and guidance. She invited me
to a staff meeting and allowed me to meet with the Chamber's Director
of Membership Services who shared best practices and resources. I also
had the opportunity to meet with Ed Swoyer and Deb Millman from
the Greater Berks Development Fund and discovered the resources
they have to offer minority-owned businesses. BCLCC also attends
and participates in the Greater Reading Chamber-run Business and
Community Advocacy program. Karen Marsdale, current Chamber
President, has ensured the ongoing partnership between BCLCC and
GRCCI remains strong, thriving, and will continue to evolve!
In addition, the GRCCI executive board and BCLCC executive
board met recently for the very FIRST time! We realize now more than
ever how much we need each other to better serve all of our business
and community members, both locally and beyond. As a result, we have
