"Providing convenience is a huge
part of putting the patient first," says
Dr. Ionita. "That means creating easy
access to comprehensive services, and
providing friendly, efficient care." Like
any Patient First location, the Lancaster
center provides urgent care for routine
illnesses and injuries as well as primary
care for patients who do not have a
regular physician. The center is open
on a walk-in basis from 8 a.m. to 10
p.m., 365 days a year. There is always a
physician on-site, and each center has
an on-site x-ray department, an on-site
lab that has earned CLIA's Certificate of
Compliance, and an on-site prescription
dispensary. All on-site services are fully
staffed during all hours of operation.
In addition to helping patients inside
the medical center, the staff at Patient
First strives to help the greater Lancaster
community. The center regularly partners
with local elementary schools to help

provide students with books, classroom
technology, and supporting STEAM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts,
and Math) programs. Recently, Patient
First made donations to help three local
schools develop learning gardens. In
these gardens, students grow vegetables
and learn about nutrition and biology.
This summer, the staff purchased and
stuffed school supplies into 100 backpacks that were donated to local students
through a partnership with the Lancaster
Recreation Commission.
"I'm proud of everyone here at the
Lancaster center," Dr. Ionita said. "I
think they would agree when I say that
'Patient First' is not just where we work,
but why we work."
