Where do you practice and why did you settle
in your present location or community?
I currently practice at LG Health Physicians Arthritis & Rheumatology.
I started there in 2018 when I moved to the area. I am originally from
Minnesota, but my husband owns a business in Lancaster. I went to
Penn State Hershey for medical school, so I was familiar with the area.
I have been pleasantly surprised by everything Lancaster has to offer.
What do you like best about practicing
medicine?
I like that I am able to help people and provide them the opportunity
to live a relatively normal life despite having a potentially debilitating
disease. In rheumatology, you build long-term relationships with your
patients and their families. Not only am I able to help my patients feel
better, but I also develop a special bond on a more personal level.
Are you involved in any community, non-profit,
or professional organizations? If so, please list
the groups:
I am involved with the American College of Rheumatology and am on
the board of the Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society.
What are your hobbies and interests when
you're not working?
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love
cooking and baking, which I have been able to introduce to and enjoy
with my son. I also enjoy being active, practicing yoga, running, and
working out on my Peloton bike. Pre-pandemic we were avid travelers,
and I look forward to traveling again.

For what reason(s) did you become a member
of the Lancaster City & County Medical
Society and what do you value most about
your membership?
As a transplant to the area, it was important to me to become involved
in a local organization that advocates for our profession. I value the
support along with the collaboration among different fields of medicine that LCCMS represents in this community.
