and I can visit each other on weekends and holidays via an easy drive on
Interstate 80. In the past, I did my clinical clerkship in Lancaster, and I
have fond memories of this community. I love living amongst the rolling
hills and enjoy the vastness of the horizon, the freshness of the morning
air, and the occasional horse and buggy passing by. Lancaster offers
plenty of things to experience, from antique shops to little mom-andpop restaurants. Also, people are very friendly in Lancaster, and I can
always count on receiving a "hello" when walking past another person;
that makes me feel that I belong here. Lancaster is also where I met my
husband and where we live with our three dogs who like keeping me
company in my garden.

What do you like best about practicing medicine?
I am blessed that early in my school years I was able to discover that I
am meant to help people in need. I enjoy that medicine never stops
evolving and that I am always and forever a student. Over the years, my
patients have taught me many things not only about medicine but also
about life itself, including the value of appreciation and thankfulness to
one another. Medicine also allows me to be a part of a team every day.
I enjoy being able to work with nurses and other physicians, creating a
trustful bond and becoming great friends.

Are you involved in any community, non-profit,
or professional organizations? If so, please list
the groups.
Yes, I enjoy teaching residents every day. This year, I am a member of a
committee of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) that concentrates on the issue of drug shortages.

What are your hobbies and interests when you're
not working?

I love the quiet and serenity of nature and enjoy traveling to different
countries. Each year, I try to go to a place where I have never been to
before. I enjoy learning about different cultures and visiting different
historical sites. Oh yes, I'm also a foodie. The world we live in is filled with
great beauty and amazing places. Traveling has taught me that life offers
so much more than what is immediately in front of us.

For what reason(s) did you become a member of
the Lancaster City & County Medical Society and
what do you value most about your membership?

UPMC Pinnacle Anesthesia, LLC

Where do you practice and why did you settle in your
present location or community?

I am practicing anesthesiology and critical care medicine at UPMC Pinnacle Lititz. A
year after my fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, I realized it is
important for me to be closer to my family, especially during the holiday months.
In 2015, I was happy to learn UPMC Pinnacle in Lancaster had an opening for an
anesthesiologist specializing in critical care. Lancaster County is just short of a
three-hour drive from where I was raised in New Jersey. Now, my family members

To be a member of the Lancaster City and County Medical Society is a
privilege. I value our mission as patient advocates and champions of
patient-centered care. Members of LCCMS strive to provide the best
health care to our community. The Society is also committed to helping
our members achieve their career goals through networking opportunities. Lancaster Physician magazine is also a helpful tool for staying
