Tec Centro

workers, especially those who have come
from a program that has already done the
background work usually completed right
before employment.

Centro hopes its alumni continue
to progress in their professions by
furthering their education at other
post-secondary institutions.

In the fiscal year 2015-2016, Tec Centro
served 1,222 individuals in all programs.
140 completed skills training, and 69
more completed short-term training like
forklift; 277 of these were placed in jobs.
The average wage of those trained was
$15.50/hour.

Companies who employ Tec
Centro graduates are a big help by
sharing their needs with the center.
If they need employees with specific
skills, Tec Centro is fluid and able to
design courses to fit those employment needs. For example, Tec Centro
has designed courses for banks and
call centers.

The goal of Tec Centro is to find meaningful professional jobs for students and
to increase their earning potential without
putting them in debt. Good jobs will also
increase individuals' contributions to
the community in many ways, and Tec

As the Lancaster Poverty Commission reports, "one good job" is all it
takes to rise out of poverty and become a
contributing member of the community.
