their project, which will culminate in a presentation

of recommendations to the Board at our October
meeting. This year's presentation will focus on the
retention and engagement of millennial attorneys and
will provide insights into the needs and priorities of
our youngest members, as well as a look at how they
differ from the needs and priorities of young attorneys
of previous generations.
The MBA is in the process of recruiting for next
year's Leadership Academy, which will be the 5th
year of the program. Bar leadership is excited about
some changes for next year, which will include the
replacement of the current project format with a pro
bono experience. Academy members will also serve as
mentors for our Summer 1L Diversity students, who

will be included in various Leadership Academy events
during the 8-weeks they are with us next summer. As
the Leadership Academy has been an effective model
for fostering diversity and engagement, we are excited

to recruit a qualified and diverse class. If you
are interested in becoming a member of next
year's Academy, you can find an application at
montgomerybar.org. If you know of anyone who
would be a good fit for the program, please nominate
them and encourage them to apply. Applicants
must have a minimum of 3-years of practice and be
