Nancy Hagner
I

t is with mixed emotions we announce the retirement of
a valued employee and dear friend who has served the Bar
Association for 46 years.

Nancy began her employment here in 1972 as a lunchtime
waitress in the dining room when her children were young,
then moved to office operations in 1982. She was the Lawyer
Referral Administrator for many years before becoming the
assistant to Executive Director Nancy Paul, and the go-to person
for all member questions.
Nancy will be missed terribly. She is compassionate, upbeat
and good-hearted, and has always dealt with members in the
utmost professional and cordial manner - a role model for all.
We hope she and her husband, David, continue to enjoy their
time with their family, which has always been the center of their
life together.
Nancy's last day was Wednesday, February 28. True to her
humble nature, she emphatically instructed "no fanfare" in our
attempts to plan a retirement celebration befitting the special
place she holds in our hearts. We know it was difficult to let
go of what she joyfully devoted her energy to for 46 years, and
respected her wishes. However, her far-reaching effect on the
many lives she touched was evidenced and celebrated by the
outpouring of love and affection from countless members who
stopped by to wish her well.
We are not saying goodbye forever, as we hope she will come
back from time-to-time to make us smile. Nancy will always be
a part of the fabric of MBA!
We wish you well, Nancy. No one deserves a retirement filled
with health and happiness more than you!
