The Equity Stop
Welcome to the new Sidebar column from the
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee!
We would like to start out by thanking all who
participated in the DEI Title Competition and
congratulating Chloe Mullen-Wilson for the
winning title - The Equity Stop!

DID YOU KNOW?

and Inclusion Committee
It is the Year of the Metal Ox! If you are like me, who would
simply check what my zodiac animal was and then scroll along,
you are missing out. There is so much more than learning you are
a horse. There is a whole rich, cultural background that I truly
encourage you to read up on.
The zodiac is not limited to the repeating cycle of 12 animals;
it is also the repeating cycle of 5 elements and every aspect of the
zodiac has a different meaning. The Ox is considered a symbol of
honesty, reliability, power, and of a fruitful year and, who are we
kidding, we could all use some of that after the year we have all
had. The metal element is indicative of recovering and of building.
What does this year mean for us? Generally, very generally, it will
be a lucky year that is good for relations, investing, and starting
businesses. While it is incredibly difficult to stay positive midpandemic, the year of the Metal Ox is bringing us a glimpse
of hope. For the sake of our mental health and sanity, it is so
important to find something to look forward to or something
that gives us hope, no matter how small it is. So, even if you are a
horse, a goat, or a rat, strive and look forward to being an ox - be
honest, hardworking, kind, and an inspiration to others in the
legal community.

Our Plan:
* Create a directory that highlights these businesses
* Feature these businesses on the MBA website and in other MBA media

All members are invited to join our Committee
meetings, which are held on the second Tuesday
of each month at 10:00 AM (excluding June,
July, and November). Stay tuned for upcoming
CLE seminars and collaborations!

* Develop networking opportunities between these business owners and MBA members
