Bar Association Family Law Section semiannual meeting in Savannah, GA on May
4 and 5, 2017. Ms. Shemtob also testified
on May 23, 2017 before the PA House
Judiciary Committee expressing serious
concerns regarding Proposed House Bill
1250. The proposed Bill would negate the
Pennsylvania statewide guidelines from
being used to determine alimony pendente
lite and spousal support. According to Ms.
Shemtob, the proposed bill would have
serious consequences for the majority of
the residents in the state of Pennsylvania,
necessitating lengthy and costly trial when
there are already deviations built into the
law, which can be argued by attorneys to
protect any unfair results by the use of the
guidelines.

presented as a panelist on the topic of
"Medical Marijuana Legislation and
the Impact on Municipalities" at the
Montgomery County Association of
Township Officials (MCATO) Spring
Convention.

attorney Karl S. Myers served as a cohost for the Pennsylvania Cable Network's
televised coverage of the Pennsylvania
Superior Court's March 21 en banc
argument session in Philadelphia. The
presentation was broadcasted on PCN on
March 30.
Kenneth P. Milner, Special Counsel to
Kraut Harris, P.C., Blue Bell, has received

the Annual Award of the Solo & Small Firm
Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
The award is presented to a solo or small
firm attorney who has enhanced the
reputation and abilities of solo and small
firm attorneys in Pennsylvania.
Mark S. Cappuccio served as a speaker
at The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE)
Symposium in Villanova on April 27, 2017.
He provided an update on assessment
practices and recent court decisions. The
speakers discussed constitutional issues
raised as a result of property tax appeals
being filed by taxing authorities, among
other topics.
