PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello Fellow Members!
Hopefully you are enjoying your summer of 2019. Our new format for the Board
of Directors meetings seems to be working well and we have had great participation
and discussions on the many important matters that have come before the Board. The
Board of Directors formally approved our new Mission Statement thanks to the hard
work and diligence of Ad Hoc Committee members Marc D. Jonas, Melissa Murphy
Weber, Philip Press, and Joan Orsini-Ford. When you get a chance, please go on our
website and look at our revised Mission, Vision, and Value Statements. We can now

push forward on updating and revising our By-laws.
Our Law Day celebration on May 1st was an enjoyable event! We honored so
many wonderful people and one adorable canine named Turks. One of our award
recipients, Keith Richards, received a standing ovation from every person attending the
celebration, some with tears of joy in their eyes! Our Access to Justice Summit was a
huge success with multiple people, including a few judges, asking for an encore.
Our Robert E. Slota, Jr. 1L Summer Diversity Program is off to a great start. Thanks
to the hard work of our Diversity Committee, and especially Nancy Walsh and Jimmy
Chong, we have the largest participation of host firms and rising 2L students in the
program's history. The program has been reformatted to ensure that every participating

student has a great experience this summer and will hopefully consider someday
making Montgomery County their professional home.

For anyone who was unaware, our own Colin O'Boyle was elected to be the next
president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Colin will be a
