advocated for veterinarians in real time. You should have no doubt
that they represent the profession well in our state government.
Amid the turmoil caused by COVID-19, our nation was forced to
examine the issue of racial injustice, which came to the forefront
with the killing of George Floyd. Many businesses, industries, and
professions realized the need to examine diversity in their ranks.
PVMA has established a Diversity Committee to look at this issue
and make recommendations for ways veterinary medicine in
Pennsylvania can do a better job of reflecting the demographics
of the communities we serve. I am really excited and proud to see
PVMA focus on inclusiveness. If you are interested in serving on the

About Jennifer A. Keeler: She is a Certified Association Executive with
over 25 years of experience in association management and corporate
marketing. She recently served as Executive Director of the World
Surgical Foundation. She also acted as Executive Director to several
medical specialty societies as an Association Executive in the Specialty
Society Management Services Department of the Pennsylvania Medical
Society. Jennifer was recognized as State Executive of the Year by the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a five-time recipient of the
Model State Society Award from the American Academy of Dermatology
and Dermatologic Surgery. Jennifer lives in Hummelstown, PA with her
husband Jonathan, twin daughters Anna and Sydney, their two cats, Dusty
and Mittens. Her father, Richard A. Vaclavik, VMD, was a past-president of
PVMA and practiced in Millersburg, PA for 53 years.
