PVMA Keystone Veterinarian Fall 2021 - 11

Now is the time to step up and support
Animal Care PA and its efforts in assisting
animals and clients in need. After all, isn't
that why you went into the profession in
the first place? It is time to come together
and focus our attention on being our best.
Without generous donations and support
from both the veterinary community
and pet lovers across the state, ACPA's
programs would cease to exist, causing
more economic and preventable
euthanasia or surrender due to financial
constraints.
Even if you cannot make a monetary
contribution, you can show your support
by volunteering and attending our
fundraising events throughout the year
or even by making others aware of our
charitable programs that rely on
donations. These events include, but
are not limited to, PVMA's Keystone
Veterinary Conference, ACPA's Bark
in the Park, and Season of Giving. We
also have a Dip Jar, an electronic tip
jar, that can be placed in your practice
for donations. If this is something your
practice is interested in, please email me
at KSemuta@PaVMA.org.
PVMA and ACPA look forward to seeing
our Members and patrons in person at
our conferences and events this year and
beyond! We truly hope that all of you will
consider participating in our programs
and upcoming events to make this year
the best year yet for our industry in
Pennsylvania.
About the Author: Katie Semuta is a
Certified Veterinary Technician from
Pennsylvania and has been in the
veterinary field since 2004. Most of
her time has been working in general
practice and orthopedics. She has a
Bachelor of Science from Wilson College
in Veterinary Medical Technology
and an Associate in Arts degree from
Harrisburg Area Community College in
Business Administration. She is happily
married with two wonderful kids, a son,
and a daughter. Her four-legged family
members are Danny, a Cesky Fousek,
and Poppy, a Doodle/Australian Cattle
dog mix. In her spare time, Katie enjoys
volunteer coaching with her kids' sports
and spending leisure time on the river or
at the beach with friends and family.
