Improving Yourself to Improve Others
My 5 Es to
Finding Happiness:
Eat - eat healthy, allow moments to
indulge, and share food and drinks
with great company.
Energize - sleep 7-8 hours each night
and allow your body to reboot. When
your computer or phone doesn't
work right, what do we do? Shut it
down for a bit and restart it!
Embrace - share intimacy and
vulnerability; hug, kiss, laugh, love
others and allow yourself to be loved.
Education - keep learning new
things, build yourself professionally
and personally, and find moments
to educate others. Education is so
empowering and is something that
no one can take away from you.
Exercise - stay active! You do not
have to run a marathon; start with a
morning stretch or an evening walk
with the dog.
who may not have shown leadership skills before are now flourishing. We all
found a little piece of hidden happiness and remember the history of how
we got where we are today.
No one but yourself can find happiness for YOU! Surround yourself with
positive, supportive, happy people. Finding happiness often involves making
changes. Change is scary! Little changes allow you to move forward. Do
not allow yourself to get stuck in a daily routine that you are not satisfied
doing. If you find yourself thinking, " I am not happy doing this, " or " I am
not happy being there, " you are the only one who has the power to change
that. Do not allow someone else to make you feel guilty for achieving your
happiness. Self-care is not selfish! Happiness makes you a better boss,
partner, parent, and friend.
I know it is cliché, but I truly believe YOLO! (You only live once.) You are
given one shot at life to make it right. Only you have control over your
actions and decisions. Find your happiness and live it to the fullest! This
does not mean that every day is a good day. That is perfectionism, and being
perfect is not being happy. Each bump in the road and your response to
it builds who you are and teaches you more and more about yourself and
what makes you happy. I'm leaving you with a tip from my toolbox.
