In the PVMA Team Talk article of the last issue of Keystone
Veterinarian magazine, we introduced our new Executive
Director, Jennifer Keeler, CAE, to our team. Jennifer stated, "In
order to move PVMA forward, our team will constantly reflect
on how our benefits and services help veterinarians and your
teams. Membership is an investment and you joined PVMA
with an expectation of a return on that investment." As your
Director of Member Services, I want to share with you how your
membership in PVMA can help you to grow both professionally
and personally, no matter what stage of your veterinary career
you are in.
Prior to joining PVMA just over four years ago, I was a Director
of Marketing & Membership for a private country club.
While the beautiful golf course and amenities served as a key
selling point, it was more important to show the value in the
membership. Membership is not a one-time purchase for a
product or service ̶ it is an experience! No matter what kind of
organization you are joining, you are making an investment. As
a membership organization, it is key to continually understand
the needs of the membership and ensure members feel they are
receiving great value. PVMA's goal is to provide you the ultimate
member experience. The PVMA team is hard at work this year
making improvements to member benefits, access to programs,
and member communication. Throughout the remainder of
2020, you will be seeing updates to the PVMA website, as
well as the growing number of tools, online communities, and
resources in the PVMA Member Portal. To access the member

PVMA is unique compared to other state VMAs as we focus on
the entire veterinary team. Most VMAs only have memberships
for veterinarians. Some may include technicians, but others may
have their own association. PVMA includes Veterinarians, CVTs,
Practice Managers, Veterinary Assistants, and Office Support
Staff. Your entire team is critical to the success at your practice
and we want to have available resources for any veterinary
team member to grow. PVMA also offers a Practice Membership
option, where your entire staff can become members. As
turnover rates in practices continues to be a pain point, this has
become a great addition to your employee benefits. Not only
will it benefit your staff, but also your practice through increased
knowledge, skills, and involvement across your team.
We all know 2020 is a license renewal year and you're also
making an investment in continuing education. While members
save on conference registration rates as well as time and
travel expenses, it's not the only way to make the most of your
membership. Whether you are a long-time or newer member,
I want to share with you some of the key ways to make the
most of your PVMA membership, get involved, and support the
community and profession in Pennsylvania.

Member Services
Do you or your team members run into questions when it comes
to daily operations in the practice? Examples could be questions
about record keeping, prescriptions, or dealing with abandoned
animals. Take a look at the FAQs in the PVMA Member Portal,
or we are just a phone call or email away to assist you, saving
you valuable time. Our staff can assist you with answers to your
questions, or if we don't have an immediate answer, we can
