Dr. Hummel Fager

Hummel C. Fager, VMD passed away Tuesday
April 16, 2019 at home with his family. Dr.
Fager and his brother, Charles B. Fager IV,
owned the Camp Hill Animal Hospital for 50 years. He served
as quartermaster on the light cruiser Vicksburg in the Pacific
theater in WW II, after graduating from Staunton Military
Academy. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1949 and
University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in
1953. Dr. Fager was on the Board of Health for the Camp Hill
Borough. He volunteered at the Humane Society of Harrisburg
during the 1970's. After retiring, he and his wife of 55 years,
Nancy Gerber Fager, owned and operated Silver Lake Vineyard
in Lewisberry catering to home wine makers. At the York Fair
he won several Blue ribbons for his wine. Dr. Fager provided
spay and neuter services to Molly's Place Rescue and Adoption
Center, a local animal rescue, for 15 years. An avid bird hunter
and clay pigeon enthusiast, he taught his grandsons gun safety,
and how to shoot. He enjoyed winning at poker as he taught his
grandsons the game and taught his granddaughter how to bowl.

Dr. Michael P Gosnell

Dr. Michael P. Gosnell, DVM, 88, of Gaines,
PA, formerly of Palmer Township, died Friday,
June 28, 2019, in St. Luke's Hospital. Born
in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Clyde A. and Ann M.
Gosnell. His wife, Nannette G. Gosnell, died in 1984. He served
in the Korean War in the Coast Guard and was a member of the
VFW in Gaines. He was an equine veterinarian in Wind Gap for
15 years. Prior to that, he was vice president of research and
development at Follett for 28 years. He was also a co-owner
of Bit-By-Bit Equestrian Center. He received his bachelor's
degree from Drexel University, his master's degree from Lehigh
University and his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from
Ross University.

Surviving are his children, Paul Gosnell, Nannette Gosnell, Susan
Hunt, and Angelo Joseph Gosnell; his siblings, Clare Byrnes,
Ann Thomson, Clyde "Bud" Gosnell, Peter Gosnell, and James
Gosnell; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His
sons, Michael Gosnell and David Gosnell, died earlier.

Dr. Leigh A Marsh

(excerpt from Legacy.com)
Dr. Leigh Andrew Marsh, 90, passed away
Friday, May 31, 2019. Leigh was born March
4, 1929, in West Newton, to James and Helen
Marsh. From a young age, he loved animals and wanted to be
a veterinarian. He achieved this goal by attending Penn State
University as a ROTC student and earning a BS ('51) and MS
('56) in animal industry, serving in the Air Force as a Lieutenant
during the Korean War, and ultimately earning a VMD from
the University of Pennsylvania in 1959 to become a doctor of
veterinary medicine. In 1958, he married his beloved wife, Sally,
who supported him in purchasing and growing a successful
veterinary practice in North Philadelphia. Fondly known as
"Doc," he worked there for 55 years until the age of 86. Leigh
and Sally raised two sons and a daughter in the East Falls
neighborhood of Philadelphia. Leigh was a passionate collector
of rugs and fine art. He could talk for hours about the motifs,
colors and weaves of a Turkmen rug or the brushstrokes used by
a painter from the Bucks County impressionist school. Leigh was
preceded in death by his wife, Sally Scheeren Marsh; parents,
James and Helen; and siblings, James, Mae and Grace. He is
survived by his children, Jonathan (Barbara), of Albuquerque,
N.M., James (Laurie), of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Jane (Brian
Geoghegan), of Arvada, Colo.; granddaughters, Clara and Annie;
his sister, Esther; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Slim
Cooley.
