PVMA'S MISSION
The Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association is dedicated to
ensuring the vitality of the veterinary profession by promoting
excellence in veterinary medicine, advancing animal health and
welfare, and protecting and enhancing human health.

To be an advantageous Association benefiting our professional
veterinary community.

PVMA'S CORE VALUES
Our proposed core values are:
Initiative: Demonstrated by a proactive approach to advocacy
on behalf of the veterinary profession and animal health &
welfare in the Commonwealth.
Intention: Demonstrated by representation of the common
interests of a diverse profession through the continued success
of all Members.
Integrity: Demonstrated by honesty and transparency in
decisions and actions.

PVMA'S OBJECTIVES
The proposed objectives of the PVMA:
1 The advancement of the science and art of veterinary
medicine.
2 Foster, maintain, and enlarge public understanding of the
practice of veterinary medicine and its interconnection
to One Health.
3 Lead the agricultural community in the benefits of sound
and progressive animal welfare for the advancement of
agriculture in the Commonwealth.
4 Maintain financial soundness through fiscal responsibility.
5 Champion high standards of care in the treatment
of animals through continuing standards of excellence
in professional training and continuing education of all
veterinary professionals.
6 Grow favorable relationships with colleges, universities,
and veterinary schools in an effort to further the training,
education, and welfare of pre-veterinary and veterinary
professionals.

8 Promote goodwill among Members and seek protection
of their rights and privileges.
9 Reflect the learned ethical standards of the profession
and all responsibilities of the veterinary medical
practitioner to the Commonwealth.
10 Promote and advocate the veterinary profession to the
governmental bodies of the Commonwealth and
to present to them, on behalf of its Membership, the
Association's views regarding legislative and regulatory
matters concerning public and animal health.
11 To do all lawful acts incidental to the accomplishment of
said charitable, educational, and scientific purposes.

need your feedback, we need your ideas, we need you! Please
continue to support PVMA through change. The new decade
reminds us: Change is the only constant.
