That's how the producers of LOVE IS AFOOT describe it. They told us more, but
we're not about spoiler alerts, so you'll have to come to the Script Reading and
find out the rest of the story!
The hilarious screenplay was written by the comedy team of Perry Sachs
(Happy Madison, Jim Henson, SNL), and ubiquitous Michael LaFata. The
original 13-song soundtrack was written and composed by the incredibly talented jazz
composers, Kevin Guillaume and Perry Sachs. The songs were perfected by Tim Davis (Glee, Lady Gaga, Barbara Streisand).
Tony nominated Broadway and film star, Laura Bell Bundy, (Hairspray, Legally Blonde) brings her incredible energy, talent and
experience to the Love Is Afoot! team.
Michael (LaFata) Lacey is a Reading, PA, native and will be here in-person for the Script Reading, along with other members of
the Creative Team. Reading Theater Project will be producing this event along with Santo D. Marabella. This is a limited capacity,
ticketed event. So, get your tickets early so you can be among the first to understand why LOVE IS AFOOT!
READING FILMFEST JURORS
A Film Festival depends on high quality films. Films submitted for consideration must
be viewed and judged. That is the responsibility of our volunteer Jurors.
Beginning in early February through the end of June, each Juror is assigned an average of 9 - 12 films with a Total Run Time of 5 to
7 hours. They score the Film on direction, acting, writing, cinematography, and music as well as other criteria. They generate a score
and give the film a thumbs up or thumbs down. The top-rated films are then selected for screening during the festival.
Film assignments include Shorts, Documentaries and Feature Length films. Films are submitted by professional filmmakers as well as
students. We receive films from US filmmakers as well as international including Iran, UK, Canada, Spain and Australia to name a few.
This year we had over 140 film submissions.
The following individuals have been volunteer Jurors for Reading FilmFEST 2021. Their work is vital to the success of our Film Festival.
Without them our Film Festival would... have no films!
