Parks and Recreation Department
vs COVID-19 - We fight on...
As the COVID-19 virus morphs into variants and the
CDC updates their mask wearing recommendations,
we must continue to practice safe social interactions
in order to protect each other. The safety of our
residents, our staff and our community is our primary
concerns.
The Parks and Recreation Board will evaluate the
Department's COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan on a
monthly basis and forward any recommendations for
changes to the Board of Supervisors. Their evaluation
will be based on the current CDC and PA Department
of Health guidelines and all Department programs,
events and facilities will be operated in accordance
with these recommendations.
For now, the Department continues to follow
our original COVID Health and Safety Plan which
includes:

The wearing of face
coverings by all
participants, instructors
and staff
*
Social distancing
between participants
from different
households
*
Limiting the number of
participants in programs
* Participants and staff are " screened "
(temperature check and questionnaire) upon
arrival at the program site
* Participant supplies are pre-packaged in sealed
plastic bags
* Disposable masks, gloves and hand sanitizer are
available at all programs
Park facilities continue to be open and available for
your enjoyment. Social distancing and face coverings
are recommended while using public parks and trails.

This Program Brochure outlines programs that
we could offer safely at the time the brochure
was prepared (August 2021). As time passes and
pandemic restrictions are changed, we anticipate
adding more recreational opportunities for all
ages and abilities. The Department is currently
very short-staffed but we are working hard on
developing additional events and recreational

" pop-up " programs and events.
