West Reading is back, with new branding, more new businesses, and even more events.

grows up, we felt
it was time to
freshen up our look and
with the help of Partners
Designs, we have come up
with new branding that uses
mosaic elements from our
murals and a playful E that
is an arrow pointing west.
The colors are colorful and
happy like West Reading,
and we are to be back in business. There could not be a better
time than this summer to introduce our new image. You will soon
see new banners, updated brochures, website and refreshed social
media pages in West Reading, and that is just the start.
We were very happy to be able to host the 27th annual Art on
the Avenue June 19 this year. Not knowing if we were even able
to do an event as of April, we felt lucky we could pull something
together as quickly as we did and truly appreciated the community
coming out to support us. We also have our 2nd Fridays to look
forward to, a fall Restaurant Week, a pop-up Farmers Market, a
bigger and better Fall Fest, and all of this in just the next few
months. Christmas looks to be bigger than ever as well this year,
with more activities, entertainment, and a lot of fun for everyone!

West Reading continues to celebrate new store openings. Texture
Curl Bar opened in the 700 block. They are Berks County's first
salon for curly hair. The Gem on Penn, which has gemstones,
crystals, jewelry, art, and very cool gifts, opened in the 600 block.
The Bar Cart is another unique business. The owners have poured
their hearts into this new PA-produced concept! You can get a
craft cocktail, a PA microbrew, a glass of wine or stock up on
PA distilled liquor and hand-crafted bitters. Then, our latest
business to open is Arrowhead Emotional Wellness where they are
empowering individuals to accomplish mental health, wellness and
help them achieve life-long career goals holistically and spiritually.
What I love most about these businesses is they are all unique
and truly add to our already diverse Main Street.

Sept. 12- 15, Reading along with West Reading, Hamburg,
Boyertown, and Kutztown Main Streets will be hosting this
year's PA Main Street Conference at the DoubleTree by Hilton
Reading. It is exciting to have all the state's Main Street managers
in town to visit, shop and dine in our great area. This is our time
to shine, and we hope you will join us
as we freshen up our Avenue and show
them what a great area this is.

Your West Self!
