Harrisburg, PA - February - During its February meeting, the
Pennsylvania Medical Society Board of Trustees voted to continue
capital funding support for the PA Clinical Network. The vote
came at the recommendation of its Finance Committee, which
reviewed - in considerable detail - the Network's progress to date
and the plans for the future.
exploring remote patient monitoring, virtual care technology, and
electronic health record discounts.
The CIN team has grown in recent months.
We have two experts for everything HEDIS and STARS
related:
The PA Clinical Network boasts 53 independent practices
made up of 104 physicians and 50 advanced care practitioners;
100 of which are primary care physicians in clinics that provide
care for more than 150,000 Pennsylvanians. Contrary to popular
opinion, our experience proves that small physician-owned
practices are not "dead." Our data suggests the average size of these
clinics is about 3-5 providers. In contrast to the average PAMED
membership rates among Pennsylvania physicians, 85% are
members of the Society.
Procuring value-based contracts with the insurers has allowed
physicians in the PA Clinical Network to secure terms that level
the playing field with competing hospital systems and recognize
them for their noble work of being community-based physicians
in high-performing practices. As news of our contracts spread, we
welcome the inquiries of other physicians who may be interested
in joining their colleagues in Pennsylvania's only statewide,
physician-led network.
The Clinical Network provides the opportunity for significant
discounts on professional medical liability insurance. The average
savings per clinic exceeds $5000, which is not only a testimony
to their lower-than-average malpractice risk, but is also welcomed
by our small-business owners. Every dollar counts. In 2020 we
look forward to expanding opportunities to group purchasing
of vaccines, medical supplies, and office supplies. We are also
