PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Colleagues,
A

s I write this, we are preparing for an increase in diagnosed
COVID-19 cases and are well into our planning and execution
phase for containment and mitigation. By the time you read

this we will have a better idea of how effective our preparation has been.

It is during these times that we must come together as physicians, lead the
response to this current crisis, and ensure the safety of our patients and the
public. Not to be lost, however, is the need to ensure your own safety by
using appropriate personal protective equipment.
In the magazine this month, you will have the opportunity to learn
about various volunteer organizations dedicated to helping the citizens
of York County. Many of you have worked with one or more of these
organizations in the past and I would like to thank you on behalf of all
that have been helped.
As my time as President comes to an end, I encourage you to reflect
on the value you derive from being a member of both PAMED and the
York County Medical Society. As members, we benefit from emails with
up to date clinical information, regulatory information, CME, political
advocacy, and a forum to connect with other physicians in our community
and state. Spread the word to your colleagues who are not members and
encourage them to join us. As our membership grows, as does our ability
to make positive changes to benefit our patients, our community, and the
future of medicine.
