A

s we are fully immersed in the holidays this year, I want
to wish each of you and your families a wonderful holiday
season. Take the time to let those you care about know how

much they mean to you and savor the time you get to spend with them.
Throughout the county, many organizations spend all year caring
for the most vulnerable in our community. In this issue of York County
Medicine, you will be introduced to some of these organizations. If you
work for one of these amazing organizations, I would like to extend my
sincerest appreciation for the work you and your team are doing.
This Fall, your York County Medical Society was able to give back to
local students working towards their medical degree as five students were
provided 10-year interest free loans to pursue their education. We also
hosted a CME event in conjunction with Wellspan York Hospital OB/
GYN and Pediatric departments focusing on legal depositions.
As you read through this issue, be sure to take note of the vaping update
and the reminder of Act 96, that requires e-prescribing of controlled
substances. These articles, along with many others, are included to keep
you - our members - informed.
